The moon did not look himself tonight - only partly visible as he tried to duck in behind the rooftops.
  Sometimes at night he disappears and other times he lights up the night sky like a floodlight.
Visible or not he still does what he has to do - we'd be in a pickle if he did nothing (google if you don't know what he does).                       Some people are like this (but not all -think of some politicians) and  if we know a few we should be OK and have a Happy New year.

It was the best of times and now the worst

Dedicating this blog to my wife of 55 years Noreen who died 4th July 2019.

When something takes so long to build and suddenly breaks down  words are hard to find,
But the memories of the happy days are always left behind.

Lives in jeopardy.

Can a leopard change his spots? A persistant liar has been elected prime minister for possibly the next 10 years. How many more lives will be put at risk with this egotist in charge?

On 3rd July this year at 10.30 am I rang the local GP surgery to request a GP to call as I was worried by my wife's state of health - no one called or even rang back - just after midnight my wife collapsed on the bathroom floor and despite my efforts and the emergency services she could not be revived.

This is what austerity really produces. 

So how can a people who have been subjugated for centuries by monarchies, other invaders and indeed their own government change anything?

The truth is they are unlikely to. When the current PM has tired of the role and moves on to write his books there will always be another of similar ilk.

GET BREXIT DONE was what backroom schemer Cummings told Boris - the only things getting DONE are the voters.

Choices are tricky

Way back in 1960 sometime before I left The Rainey school in Magherafelt I was given some career advice by the then headmaster Mr Todd. He suggested that  I think about applying to join the R.U.C  (police ). Glad I ignored that one.
Having  been away from Northern Ireland for almost 60 years I hear songs or other things which remind me what might have been.

This recent song by Danny Devlin gives one example of situations which can occur even today and poses the question.

concludes with the line ' I'll see you in a while this one has no end' Sometimes the end is just another beginning.
