Today 8th July 2012 the Massey Ferguson tower block in Banner Lane was demolished. I spent many hours in this block from November 1969 when I started to work at MF up to 1992 when I was made redundant during the ongoing process to wind down the tractor manufacturing business in Coventry.
Luckily I did'nt let the experience become destructive and proceeded with the belief that MF needed me more than I needed them. Today confirmed this belief.
Harry Ferguson would not have been happy that his genius and business acumen had been ruined by short term financial reward seekers. This seems to be happening everywhere today but its more difficult to hide from the scrutiny of the new technology and at last this sort of thing can be preventable.
