I started this blog on Friday 13th July 2007 and coincidentally had 13 blogs in that year and as you may or may not expect there have been a few unlucky episodes in the intervening almost 9 years.
In an attempt to prevent such occurrences in the next 9 I waited until the 14th May to proceed with my musings.
This does not mean that I am superstitious just being cautious. When I say unlucky episodes have occurred in the past this is what I would have thought about these happenings at the time. Now on reflection I have to regard them as tending to be more on the lucky side of the scale.
When my local hospital decided to refer me to the Vascular surgeon at U.C.L. Hospital in London as my condition was complex I now think that this was a life changing decision. My subsequent treatment at The Heart Hospital and Royal Free Hospital was of a high standard of care and would not have been improved upon anywhere else.
To sum this up I would say that if you happen to make good decisions or someone else makes them for you then your chances of being lucky are quite high and will stay high pending the continuity of these good decisions.

AND NEWFOUNDLAND
Hi Mickey you probably do know off me - I left The Rainey in 1960 and ended up in England where I have been since.I think you may have been a couple of years behind me ( not intellectually ) I think I was more interested in sport than doing exams and this may be why you know me I spent a lot of time javelin throwing.
Good to hear from you - are you still in Newfoundland?
